Gave them an acid wash, they look clean and bare inside as well. I'll get them sealed after I test them for leaks.

I was surprised, they looked pretty rough and had multiple coats of paint. Im hoping the 46 tanks are just as nice once the paint is off.

Front fender has come a long way. I wanted to test fit it on the 46 bike before we went any further on it which I'll do tomorrow. The fender had a good twist to it but it looks good now. Need to eliminate a bunch of holes next.

Two plates spot welded on, no idea what went on there.

I’m not a fan of chrome, something about those black wheels with cad spokes. You know my vote

Im going to have to find another pair of rims because I can't bring myself to have all the perfect chrome stripped off of the current ones. Blacked out is best.

I know but i also know the rust will get to them in a short while

we use bucannan stainless then remove the B on the big end and glass bead them in to a cad visual

What about the flats on the spoke nipples? They have the right detail, straight line across the edge of the flats?

Test fitted the 48 fender on the 46 because the front end was on the frame and it was a quick install.

Im going to try it on the 48 front end to compare because either the fender needs some tweaking or the upper mount tabs on the front end do. Still cool to see a fender on it though.

You need to install the rockers. I had issues fitting the front fender to my '46, all seemed well until you tightened the bolts to the front end, everything got wracked and the sides flared out as the bolts pulled the middle of the fender up to the forks. The distance top to bottom is crucial.
