Cool bikes! I bought a Honda NS400R and a Yamaha RZ500, looking for an RG500 next. Tried to buy an RD400 Daytona but he's not ready to sell it yet. I also picked up 93 CBR900RR and a few 86 GSXR 1100's.
Both bikes went to a good home, a motorcycle collector who has a diverse collection and I was looking to change things up. I still have a twinkie, a shovel and the 48 so I'm not without a cool Harley. A 47 Chief would be a nice addition.

Paul, thanks for posting photos of the frame ID. Apart from 8 on the front of the steering head the only other number I’ve seen there is 5 on a Feb 53 frame. I imagine both may have been done by an inspector.
As for die number 10 on the left clip, I agree it’s good for 48 and I’ve seen it on another 48 frame. But you could check the top of the seat post forging for a repair number.
Just out of curiosity, is anything stamped on the mount where the rear brake pedal bracket attaches? And is there anything stamped on the left side where the clutch lever bracket goes?

Thanks Paul. I don’t know what the O indicates. Some frames had a character stamped on the front mounts I mentioned. Sometimes a letter, sometimes a number and sometimes a symbol of one type or another. My best guess is that they were applied by an inspector.
