I have a 62 pan. The VIN on the engine has stars on each end star62FL####star. Does anyone know what that means. I can not find anything on it.

Interesting. I used to have a 52 and it was 52FLXXXX, like yours, but I don't recall any stars.

 

Well the numbers/letters you show are good so I am thinking maybe MoCo assigned numbers on replacement cases? Have you looked at the lower belly numbers?

 

the 2 does not look right they have an up tag on the bottom line of the 2

 

Thought the "2" came both ways...kinda like the "6" and "9" on som year models...

 

Harley used stars in 84 in the old VIN location, when they moved the VIN...they look the same.
