Battery CCAs of 1st Gen Pan Ams?
OK, so my battery is starting to read in the lower 12V range no matter if it sits on a battery tender or not, typically 12.1 to 12.4 but even as low as 11.9. I think it's time for it to be replaced. Does anyone know if H-D updated the new battery for the 1st Gen Pan Ams to have more CCAs? I swear I remember the originals being 225 CCA but reading they updated the replacements for the 1st Gen PAs to be 240 CCAs. I also see the part number has changed but I can't seem to find anything about a battery change besides the 24 PAs getting a larger battery. Does anybody have an idea on if something changed?
Thank you in advance for any insight!

The changes were more than just a battery. For 2024 they changed the electrical system by including a bigger battery, yes, but also the charging system has some changes.
Apparently you can retrofit a 2021-2023 Pan America to the new 2024 charging system.
Here's the service bulletin.

See this link for install instructions and to see what all's included.
Now, unrelated to this, some Gen 1 owners have reported significant reliability increases by installing a higher-power lithium battery, by itself. But if you want the complete fix, you probably need to add the whole service kit. Looks like it's in the ballpark of $2600 or so.

I'd switch to lithium but was warned by a H-D service dept employee that it'd void my ESP/warranty. That's why I'm looking at AGM batteries, including the standard H-D replacement. Finding the CCA for the revised part number on the H-D battery is impossible.
I'd read somewhere it had been upped to 240CCA but I can't find it now. I swear, whenever I need a little info, H-D acts as if it's vital to national security and has it marked as "for Zeitz eyes only".

The battery part number for the 2024 Pan America is 65989-97E.
For the 2021 Pan America it was 65958-04C.
Website is scant on details but it does show the amp-hours is a huge increase. 2021's was a 12Ah battery, the 2024's is a 17.5 Ah battery.
From https://h-dmediakit.com/jp/bdp/?ra1250s|2021, it shows the 2021 battery specs as "Sealed, maintenance-free, absorbed glass mat (AGM) battery, 12V, 12Ah, 225 CCA at 0°F".
Unfortunately, it looks like they copied and pasted the specs for 2024, it reads exactly the same, despite us knowing that the 2024's battery is 17.5Ah is nearly 50% more.
Can't find any definitive details on the stock 2024 battery's CCA. However, in this video, Mike's Motorbike Channel says the 2024 battery is 315 CCA. From what I can tell, Mike's considered to be "the guy" when it comes to Pan America knowledge, and he's the only guy on the entire internet (seemingly!) who quotes a stat at all, so I'd tend to say he's probably correct.

Has anyone here used the DS battery or know of another reputable AGM battery that fits the Pan Am? I swear, H-D is going to force me to go with Antigravity. I don't have a lot of trust in lithium batteries after having a rechargeable lithium flashlight go Chernobyl a few years ago, but I don't want to swap a battery every year or so either.

Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries do not catch fire, they use a different chemistry than Lithium-Ion, which powered your flashlight.
I've used Shorai lithium batteries for almost a decade with absolutely no issues, one of the best purchases I've made for my Sportster. In fact, lots of home solar systems are using LiFePO4 batteries instead of the old deep cycle lead-acid types. Much lighter, more compact, no regular (and necessary!) watering, and no explosive hydrogen gases.
