Looking at a 22 PAS with 28000 miles
Hi guys,
I have a 23 Road Glide ST and a KLR650. Looking at replacing the KLR with a PanAm. Found a really good deal on a 22 with 28K on the clock.
That mileage would not worry me on a touring model, but wanted to get PA owners thoughts on engine longevity.
All service has been done by HD and is backed by service records.
Thoughts?

A '22 with 28k on the clock should have all the bugs worked out of it. They seem pretty robust but only time will tell on how many miles these engines will last. I might get an extended warranty if available. From personal experience with my '23, I would advise to make sure it does not have a traditional lead-acid battery.

I would check the manufacture date. Late '22 production dates (or later) are generally "in the clear". Doesnt mean there won't ever be problems but thats when HD finally fixed the major issues. Also if you are lookin at a bike with more than 10k miles do know that the stock tires usually dont last any longer than 10k and i'm told at 10k-15k is when fuel pump issues start. Its due to one of the filters getting clogged and its a non swappable part, so you have to replace the whole thing. Just something to keep in mind. I haven't had that issue but im just shy of 10k.
