Default main fuse removal and Alarm sounding ?

on my '22 I have the optional alarm and I think the audible function might even be another option.

When I remove the main fuse with the starter tab selected to OFF the alarm sounds.
When I remove the main fuse with the starter tab selected to ON the alarm does not sound.

Is that correct ? because owners manual states to pull main fuse with On Off switch in the OFF position.

I pull the main fuse with the ignition in the on position and the alarm does not go off...

That's the way it is supposed to work. The manual might not take into consideration that you have an audible alarm, without the "siren", it doesn't matter where the ignition is.

I'm assuming you're looking at the service procedures section of your owner's manual.

Since your bike has a security system, follow the procedure in the security system section of your owner's manual.

Thank You for the instruction.

So I recall reading that month ago maybe last year and I would use that procedure.
I'm getting older and I don't remember some things as well as I used to so I reviewed the owners manual this morning about battery removal and key fob - looking for alarm but missed the text you enclosed above. .

Thank You for posting and also the posters above .

so why does one say set to off and one says set to run before removing the main fuse?

it's all about quieting the optional audible alarm.
maybe less chances of complication in the OFF position but if you have the alarm it needs ON position so the alarm doesn't continuously run.
