Default Lithium Battery (almost mandatory)

I have been riding since almost a year with a Lithium Battery. I have to upgrade it. I choose antigravity ATX12-HD which as a restart mechanism. I didn’t know better. Restart is useless in a PAS since the top of the battery can’t be accessed without taking the battery out.

Due to the upgrade, I put the HD Battery back in. I forgot about it.

Then, today, I went for a ride before the rain.

I thought I would crash. The steering is so heavy, the feeling on angle is so abrupt. There’s this angle when you feel the bike is going down. I check the tire pressure. It was fine. I check the steering damper. No cable or retainer or any difference in the movement.

I cannot wait to put the lithium battery back in. The difference is tremendous.

I understand that if you’re off-roading you might be concerned by a lithium battery. I do lots of roads and I have the steel skid plate. The PanAM is a different bike when the weight at the bottom is lighter.

As anyone gotten the same experience when swapping the battery for a lighter one?

I felt no difference in bike performance going to the Li-Ion. For the jump start feature you need the remote (
Amazon.com: Antigravity Batteries Restart Remote for RE-START Lithium Powersport Batteries (AG-RRS-1) : Automotive Amazon.com: Antigravity Batteries Restart Remote for RE-START Lithium Powersport Batteries (AG-RRS-1) : Automotive
). It connects to your SAE charge port and will activate the feature.

ZERO need for Lithium battery! I'm 21,000 mile in on my 22, with stock original battery. Never had a problem!

Normally more weight lower on the bike is best. I don't think the difference 5 lbs? makes a difference.

I’m packing an extra 6 lbs compared to last summer on my a$$. So loosing a few lbs on the batter is something I wouldn’t even notice.
