I had it replaced with 2 cheapo chains I bought at a local powersports motorcycle shop so I could get home. They didn't have a 120 in stock so we got 2 of the smaller and joined two 60 sections together. Made it back from Mississippi no problem after that but I want to get a better chain now. No idea the brand but they were $50 a piece from the dealer so they were cheapo's (I never saw the packaging).

So what I know, it's a 530 chain and assuming it's 120 links (as they said it was 2 x 60 joined together) but need that verified.

I'd like to know which brand and model chain you guys are looking at and why.

How difficult was the process? I have all the parts. Just need to know if there are any special tools necessary? I have a 34MM socket. It looks like the rear fender has to come off to gain access to the rubber swingarm chain protector?

The Harley Chain is a good chain set and very competitive in price. See Bunker's specs above^.
I've been using SprocketCenter.com for a long time with Ducati Multistradas and my wife's 700GS. Here is the link for a precut chain and sprocket set for Pan Am. Don't forget to add the master link to your order. They are super if you call them.
Go to this link: https://sprocketcenter.com/c-1392973...2021-2023.html
you'll need some tools to do a chain, but fairly easy and the tool is much cheaper than a dealer.
I always replace sprockets with a new chain. These high powered bikes eat chains and tires...just the way it is. I have 18,000 miles on mine and will replace at or before 20K. Wife can get 30K on 700GS. I live in desert so longer life than those in wet conditions. If you ride in rain you HAVE to lube the chain immediately after.
Many great chain replacement Youtube's but here is a pretty good one:
Cheers!

Never changed out my PA chain but have for other bikes. I recommend Sprocket Center. Dont email them with questions however, they will never get back to you. Call instead.

You have the new front sprocket nut and new bolts for the rear sprocket as well? Curious on their cost and how long it took to get em.....
