Default Shutdown while riding

I posted this in another thread but thought it would be better to start my own thread.

Have a new PAS with about 300 miles on it. I was out riding yesterday and the bike just shut off on me. The display was still up but it was like the kill switch was hit.

I pulled over and used the display to go to the bike diagnostics
When there the below was displayed

When I scrolled to the EHCU and selected it the following code was shown

I let the bike sit off for a few minutes off and checked the oil to make sure oil showed on the dip stick. It was good.

I turned the bike back on and decided to start it. No check engine light, no oil light, no odd noises. I rode it the 10 miles or so home and will have it at the dealership first thing this morning.

I can not find any information on the TC thrown

I have the same code on my bike, and it is not listed in the fault code list.
is it possible you bumped the kickstand when shifting and triggered that Killswitch?

Maybe, I guess anything is possible I have not started the bike and tried hitting the kick stand. It is an easy enough test
how many times has yours done this? Did you take it to the dealer and have them check with Harley?

I may be wrong. I just tried it a few times on mine and it has to be about half way down to shut the engine down. Unless it is loose and it bounced from a large bump? I have not had the dealer check mine for that specific code. It is not in the service manual so they will probably be clueless.

I talked to a different dealer who found some information on the code.

I has to do with the canbus communication. Either a module lost connection or there wan an issue on the canbus
How many times has your done it?

Not sure how many times it has done it to be honest, I cleared the code and will see if it comes back in the next few days. I wonder if the bikes need another BCM update, of it this is caused by some poorly installed connector causing a short?

I killed the motor a couple times while riding the PA, gave me a few WTF moments. Had inadvertently thumbed the kill switch.

Also switch on the high beam unknowingly quite often.

You guys have to remember that this is a 13:1 compression bike. Make sure you keep the revs up when you downshift or it can shut down. This has been a problem with the new KTM bikes too. A lot of guys complaining that they shut down without warning, but you have to keep the gas on it. Also not sure if the Pan Am has a kick stand switch, but that has been a problem on some bikes too with guys accidentally kicking them while riding.

No, not a problem at all.

I had a similar issue at about 250 miles in. wouldn't start at all from a cold start.. nothing but the codes. Let it sit for 20 min and it fired up. Went on a trip to MT with about 300 miles on the clock- partner on a new PAS with 120 miles on it. a couple days in his bike did same at a fuel stop in middle of nowhere. We parked it for 20 minutes while we had a cigar.. fired right up again. Very weird. Each of us now between 3500 and 4k miles on the clock - have not had a re-occurrence. First service is a week away.
