It's happened 4 times in 6000 miles. The first time scared the **** outa me, now I just pull in the clutch and hit the start button and it immediately fires up.I don't think it's a fob frequency issue like some have experienced with the no-start problem, but???
I did notice that after the update, the voltage shown on the TFT was 11.9V- it used to be 12.3V. No starting issues. I checked the voltage at the battery tender lead and it reads 12.99V when on but not running and jumped to 14.2 V when running. Wait a minute! I thought it was supposed to stop voltage output when running? the update must have fixed that too? I'll have to double-check that when I go back to the garage.

BTW, no whine upon starting and no phantom stall have been experienced since the update.

Does anybody know the relevant service bulletin / software update IDs for the latest versions? My bike goes in for a service on Tuesday and I want to make sure to tell them what the latest revs are.....leave nothing to chance!

In particular, the hill hold and larger font updates.

Thanks!

You need to tell them to just hook it up to the digital tech and update anything that is newer than what you have. There have been several updates that haven't had a service bulletin number associated with them. Also make sure when they hook it to the digital tech that they hook a battery tender straight to the battery.

WTF, now it shows no output when on or running! 13+volts when off.

It should show no voltage when the bike is on and running. It is through a normally closed contact on a relay. When the bike is on the relay is active and it opens the contact to the battery tender connection.

Spent the day enjoying the ride with my fairing so much, I forgot I had put a new seat on. Which is a testament to the Sundowner being better than stock, in that my butt wasn't talking to me.

Thanks. The reason I ask is that my local dealership is really rather good and normally update everything as a matter of course. However, a friend took his 21 Pan in last week for a service and came out WITH the hill-hold upgrade, but not the bigger font upgrade....so I assume they missed an upgrade somewhere.

I just wanted to point them to relevant updates that might fix that particular issue - i.e "make sure you do Rev2.1.044" for example....

For the bigger font they have to do the last recall which is an infotainment system update through the USB C port. To get the hill hold and other updates they just need to hook up to the digital tech and make sure they do all relevant updates for the ecm,BCM and other system computers.

That’s been my experience to, the dead screen when cold issue is fixed with a software update downloaded via the USB port on the bike, I was hoping for the extended hill hold to, guess I need to get the bike scanned with the digital tech to see what updates I am short. I think that the number of updates has the dealerships confused especially as I was told they were advised not to do one particular update as it could turn the bike into an expensive paper weight!? Any firm guidance would be very helpful.

Dang that's nice. Did you notice anything different after riding? Like buffeting or any strange issues after putting on that fairing? Did you create a separate thread for that Build?
