Default automatic chain oiler and dual tone horn

Hi Folks,

I have installed an automatic chain-oiler, pictures on the Scottoiler page, the ones with the stickers are mine: Pan America (marketingengineer.de)
I had this on my previous Royal Enfield Himalayan too, it prolongs dramatically the chain life through a contant thin oil film. It works by a vacuum valve you connect to the vacuum system on the Pan America.

And I installed proper horns, still street legal dual tone to be heard. While I ride my thumb rests always on the horn button to wake up the sleepy car driver: The white text is now hidden by a black spray film.
The dual tone creates a much higher attention than a single tone, according to my impression.

Have a safe ride!

Hella dual tone horn

I'm guessing you just built a jumper wire for the dual portion? Edit... a quick Google search and this would not be the ideal solution.
Wondering if you're getting the "full effect" with the voltage drop between the two horns? Edit... you won't
Edit.... could possible need another relay to put them in parallel.

Looks interesting, thanks for posting

Hi Keith, it works fine, I connected them in parallel, and the loudness is great. I used the crashguard bolts to mount them.

Based on one of your pictures it looks like the RAM mount for your GPS is mounted to the wind deflector bracket. I’m curious where you got the RAM mount that matches the hole pattern of the screws for the wind deflector. None of the brake/clutch reservoir RAM mounts that have match that hole pattern.

Thanks!

Sorry, I clicked on reply under the specific picture I was referring to but it did not behave like I was expecting.

Hey Tman,

It was just the hardware that came in the box with my Zumo XT kit. It came with a good assortment of bolts of different length, and the slots in the bracket were plenty wide enough to fit the Pan Am. I didn't buy anything specific, and in fact all those parts had been sitting in my garage since I bought the XT over a year ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it would work with no more purchases needed....

Darn...

My Zumo 590LM came with the brake/clutch reservoir & handlebar mount (RAM-B-309-7U) and it does not match the hole pattern on the wind deflector bracket. I also tried a couple of brake/clutch reservoir mounts from my old Ultra and they didn't fit either. Guess I will have to mount my GPS to the brake/clutch mount point until something better comes along.

Thanks!!!

Default Madstad Engineering

I just installed the Madstad Engineering 20" windscreen and bracket. What a difference! Extremely well built and sturdy. Much, much better than the OEM system, but kudos to H-D for providing an adjustable windscreen mechanism.
