Here, you can look at mine while you wait. You can't see the SE exhaust without DBKiller, but if you want a great sound, it will cost you $1000.

:-) I have already spent the $1000 - and the DB killer will be removed before the pipe even goes on the bike!

Apparently, we can't get the SE exhaust here in CA. It hasn't been CARB approved? Anyone else hear the same thing?

Does that count only for vehicles sold in CA, or for vehicles brought into CA as well?

Nelson Rigg Commuter Lite Tail Bag from Revzilla - $85. Small but does expand upward 2 inches. I really like it for day rides.

I think any time you are trying to add an after market exhaust through a shop, at least in theory, it has to be approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) to be sold and installed by dealers here. There are work arounds, like sending parts to a friend/family member out of state, etc, but until the SE exhaust is approved by CARB, we out here in CA may be out of luck adding the upgrade through our dealers? Can anyone comment on it? Anyone in CA with the SE or other exhaust mod?
I would love a new exhaust on my PA. As soon as I can find a way to game the system, or work through my dealer, I am adding one :-)
But I can't even get the side bag mounting frame, the hard bags, top mounting plate, bash plate, tank pads, really anything that I ordered as far as accessories go, so, I'll probably be waiting a bit for the exhaust.

When I last lived there vehicles manufactured for sale in CA had to remain in a state that met CA requirements, but vehicles from out of state didn't. It's been 20+ years though and the situation may have changed.

Just a little thing that made me go "Hmm...."

I was browsing the online parts book for the PanAm and noticed that the rear wheels have FOUR wheel bearings. Three on the drive side and one ABS specific one on the other side. Hopefully, this means that the load is spread among twice the normal number of bearings and HD bearings eating themselves will not be a thing on this bike.

#26 (3 off) is the classic HD 9276B wheel bearing that we all know and love and #25 is the HD 9252A ABS bearing. Same bearings as on many modern Harleys - just more of them!
