Keeping the RGU for the time being. We'll see if it has gotten any seat time between the PA's delivery and October or so.
I had a Buell Ulysses for about 5 years a while back. My Roadglide rarely left the garage during those years. I'm certain the same thing will happen when I get the PA, I figure that I may as well be proactive and put the funds towards the new bike.
it was in Austin. They brought at least 10 bikes for the dealers sales people from the area to ride them. They also had the BMW and a few other bikes there they could ride to compare. They brought the standard and special bikes.
On another thread they said there are no Pan America;s to demo at Daytona bike week. Shows you what kind of customer they are marketing to.

This was only for Dealers to ride I guess they want them to understand the bike first. I asked if it was only for dealers they said yes so I didnt press it. All I really wanted to do anyway is see if I could get on the thing.. What I heard from the sales people is its really comfortable and fast. Not that I need it to be fast at all im old so I won't be doing any of that.
For shorter folks, stepping on the peg, and using it to throw your leg over, saves the need to be an acrobat to ride one of these ADVs. I have a Ducati MTS Enduro now, and I am auper excited by the Pan America.I put a deposit down (#273), and plan on making the purchase as soon as it is available. My big issue with the ducati is all the plastic, and the height..so an aluminum tank and the adaptive height tech sounds great. I have a HD crossbones too, so I would love to add another Harley to my stable of horses, but I love all motorcycles really...especially HD. :-)
id be interested when you ride one what you think since you have the others.
This is my passive aggressive way of trying to talk myself out of buying one... I could totally see myself finding a good use for this bike, but have no desire to deal with explaining that to my wife. 🙃
I'll wait until the 2nd or 3rd generation comes out, with a fully flush aftermarket, if this bike proves to be a winner.
I'm still caught up in the smaller is better camp, and like seeking out the worst route available.

My understanding is that they're doing this prior tp shipping the demos so that the dealers have a clue when they're trying to sell the bike.
