My intention!

I really could see Harley making a police variant of the PA to compete with BMW. Would not take much, It already has the cast wheels, They could go a little smaller on the wheels or a little lower suspension, little bigger fairing, some blinky lights and it's there.

If your bike will ever be on its side then I would go with the bare aluminum. It doesn’t show scratches as easy and can take some abuse. Also won’t matter when you drag your boot across the lids getting on and off the bike.

Pretty much my thinking as well. The bags actually look to be pretty good - and hopefully things like the SW-Motech liner bags, lid bags, bottle holders and things should fit perfectly.....

I'm really hoping my old BMW dry liners will fit.

Actually, I have liners for BMW Vario cases somewhere. They might also fit at a pinch....

Can a plastic top box be fitted with the metal boxes? I think that you may not be able to open the metal boxes lid.
I guess that with a small 42l top box it should be OK (same dimension than the metal top box), but I'm not so sure with large 49 or 58l top case.

If you could, though, that would be around 150l.
Probably still not enough for a weekend trip with the mrs, but closer than "just" 120l...
And you could store both helmets in the top case if needed.

The metal boxes have attachment points for straps. Just roll the extra stuff up in a waterproof bag and strap it to the top of the boxes. Better than riding around with a floppy huge box on top when all that space isn’t needed.
