I have been going to Laughlin from the first year (1983) at the Riverside. I stopped going for the weekends several years ago. Way too many RUBs and too many Bung hole cops.

I used to get the rooms comped by the casinos on weekends. But not any more. Last year they even stopped comping Thursday night.
I will arrive Tuesday and have Tuesday and Wednesday night comped at the Tropicana. Then Thursday, I have a Suite comped at the Rio. It is only 45 miles away. So I can come back for Friday and ride home that night.

There is also a tattoo convention in town the same time. That ought to create some interesting party crowds!

They did the same thing during Las Vegas Bike Fest a couple of times. Different tattoo convention. However, not near the crowds lately ever since the incidents in Sparks a couple of years ago and/or since moving from Mandalay Bay to the Mirage. Either way, a lot more police presence.

Well the forecast is calling for the high 90's during the rally in Laughlin! Great! Sitting here in Al Bu Ker Key and its 39 degrees!! Yikes! And the damn wind just will NOT stop blowing! Hopefully things will calm down by next Thursday when my GF and I roll west to Laughlin on superslab I40. Boring *** ride!!!

Two questions for those in the know:

1) Staying at Tropicana Express for two nights ---- am I going to be really disappointed with this room/hotel? Used to Best Westerns on the road.

2) Want to make a run up to Hoover Dam ----- should I take 93 or 95? Is there
a more scenic route? Go up one and return on the other?

Thanks! Ride safe and see you in Laughlin! StreetGlide with Phoenix and Softail Deluxe for the lady.

Every hotel in Laughlin is marginal at best but they have a bed and a shower!! Lol...we had cold weather here in SoCal to font feel bad..and it's blowing as we speak. At 95 degrees a little breeze wouldn't be bad. I'm not to sure about a route to the dam but any road is better than the 40 freeway!
