Holy crap!! Where the hell was I when you posted this!! There are a lot of people heading there this year, it's going to be awesome!! I'm in and I would like to make all three days, we'll see when that gets closer. I might be moving some time around there so who knows if I cruise out with you western WA folks. I'll know more when I get orders in the next couple months.
Title 59. Oregon Vehicle Code. Chapter 801.366: "'Motorcycle Helmet' means a protective covering for the head consisting of a hard outer shell, padding adjacent to and inside the outer shell and a chin-strap type retention system with a sticker indicating that the motorcycle helmet meets standards established by the United States Department of Transportation.
The key phrase there is: "with a sticker indicating that the motorcycle helmet meets standards established by the United States Department of Transportation".
Helmet doesn't have to meet DoT standards, just has to have a sticker indicating it does.
Hey Steve, any further news on the t-shirts? .. and will there be a retro-active shirt for last year?
I just emailed the young lady that's working on the design. Hopefully I'll hear back soon. And yes, I will make 2009 Rally shirts available to those who were there. To use an old Navy term (Jaron), I think plankowners should be recognized as such!

There ain't a judge on this earth who'd agree with your reading on that.
You might be able to convince an officer that the sticker is legitimate and avoid a ticket that way, but there are instances where officers have called BS on the DOT sticker and actually looked up the helmet make/model. That doesn't turn out so well for the biker if they find that it's not on the list.
It's your life and I'll defend your right to make your own decision, I'm just sayin' that your suggestion isn't as foolproof as it might seem.
