Forecasts are still saying mostly clear for Sunday with showers coming late night.
I'm still riding, with some rain gear in my bags.

Going to be heading home from Vegas in about an hour. Zumanity was cool

I got the forwards on and a test ride in by 6 PM. All is good!

Surprisingly, bleeding the brakes from a dry master cylinder was easy. The problem was with the crap hardware they supplied. I had to run to the h/w store twice for stainless steel parts. Now ... if only the weather will cooperate (I have no rain gear, and no place to store any).

I was awakened by the sound of pounding rain on the bedroom window around 5:30. Everything is still soaking wet here, and I don't like the looks of the sky. The weather gurus really blew this one. Sorry, but I'm out.

Good luck, have fun, and ride safe if you are still going. Bring rain gear for sure ... I saw a a big green blob on doppler rader a few minutes ago, centered just south of Temecula.

It is currently 43 degrees in Murrieta but the sun is out. Yesterday started out like this too but then we had scattered showers all day.

As much as I'd like to ride today (especially after last weekend's weather and ride) I think I'll wait for nicer weather. I have rain gear but don't really want to ride in the rain and cold and don't want to have to spend hours cleaning the bike when I get back. Call me a fair weather puzzy if you want. But hey, it's my bike, my decision!

Hope you guys have a good ride and stay safe.

Hey CPG... You're a fair weathered ..... HAHA
Just kidding. I prefer not to ride in the rain either. I just can't wait any longer. The only riding I've been able to do lately is back and fourth to work. Want to get out on the road.

We'll see how much of the planned route we can get in. Might not make it to Julian.

Finally got this ride done. PhatPhil and I met at Ortega and hit the road. Didn't make it to Idyllwild as it looked pretty cloudy and cold heading up that way. At Hemet we took the CR3 back down to the 79.

Did get some rain in a few spots, but it was far between and mostly light. Was a bit cool up in Julian, but the Buffalo Burgers were good and hot.
Otherwise it was good riding.

Thanks for the company PhatPhil.

Yesterday the wife and I headed out the 8E going to the desert. We were planning on scattering my Dads ashes. We hit such heavy rain going over the Laguna summit that I turned around. I couldn't see well enough to continue. We were soaked by the time we got back home.

Old thread but the ride is still good!
Me and a few friends will be doing this same ride this Sat the 5th. Probably leaving out from Beach blvd and 91 fwy area about 9am.
Haven't talked details with the others yet, but we usually meet up at the starbuck there by the wax museum.

Hit me up if you wanna join.

I don't think either one of those is in OC. Hey hockeystick, go straight out on the 76.
