So who on this board thinks they may be in for this ride on the 21st? Maybe still too early to ask, but just to get an idea of possible meeting spots.

The 21st is the only day I can make it. I'll be coming back from Vegas on the 20th (in car).

My BIL can't make it, but another riding bud of mine is planning on it and maybe a friend of his.

I think we'll leave HB area about 8am. Skidrow may join from HB? So maybe 4 of us coming from HB area. Then might meet Mr Lucky at start of Ortega hwy.

I'm thinking we can meet anyone else at the other end of Ortega. There's a bar I always see bikes outside, just this side of the lake on Grand. I've never stopped there and I don't know the name of it. Guess we would be there about 9:30 ??
Still kind of far off, but I'm thinkin I can make it.

Is this the place you were thinking of above Elsinore … dirt lot, lots of bikes on weekends?
No, not the Lookout. That's on the hwy near Hells Kitchen and is mostly a sport bike stop.

The place I'm thinking of is at the bottom of Ortega at Lake Elsinore, You make a left onto Grand and the bar is on the left side of the road.

It's called "Menace". Should be a good meeting spot.

Alternative to 74 east is to go south on Grand to Clinton Keith. Left on Clinton Keith to Palomar and turn right which turns into Washington (I live right off Washington). You can then cruise through Old Town Murrieta and then down to Old Town Temecula. http://www.oldtowntemecula.biz/

From Temecula your can pick up 79 and head east.

I can meet you at Menace or at Clinton Keith/Palomar (at the RiteAid).

Sounds good. We can decide at Menace which way to head from there.
First choice is still to go past Idyllwild by way of 74 if open. If not open past Hemet, I really want to hit the CR-3 as SteelKnee suggested earlier in this thread.
How we get there is open.

I'll pass on the Old Town Temecula part. I've heard too many stories of ticketing for loud pipes there. There are too many good places to ride w/o risking hassle from the man.

Really?

I go almost every weekend and never had a problem. Of course, I'm not a "rever" either but I've never even seen anyone get hassled by cops. The place is packed with bikes and seams to be very bike friendly. Maybe if you do burn outs on Front St you might have a problem!

Edited due to 74 now being open all the way.

in the midst of resolving a "loud pipes" ticket, I'm "up" for a ride into the cold. Haven't been tuned into most of the dialog. I'm up for meeting you all at 5 & Ortega ~approx 0830.
I haven't been on the Phatty for a couple weeks...ARRRGH.

Where'd you get the ticket?

On the 21st, 'bout 8:30a, meeting at Ortega just East of the 5. Starbucks at corner of Rancho Viejo and Ortega.

If you plan to make it, PM me to exchange cell numbers. -Chris-
