It's just too bad you won't have time to ride Engineer Road, That is a road well worth the journey. Maybe sometime this summer you OC guys can come down for an escort.

Thanks guys..

Good to hear of the road conditions. I found Wynola and Farmers roads on the map. Will work these in for sure.

I'm thinking we may do this on weekend of Feb 6th or 13th. Will need to talk with my riding partners and see what works.

I'll be sure to post up on this thread when we decide on the date.

Hey Chris, if it's not strictly a family thing, keep me in mind. I love that area! Jorge took us on a back roads trip there a month or so ago, but your route sounds good too. I also have a mapped route that comes in from the other direction, via Ramona.

I'm planning on retiring to the SD area, so I might as well start learning all the good places now.

Hi Bob

Not strickly a family ride. I'll be sure to let you know when we firm up the date. Maybe the 6th, as the superbowl is on the 7th and the next weekend is Valintines (always forget about that).

I sent you a PM with a bit more info.

Just thinking about riding up in OUR hills makes me think we are some lucky SOBs. I have lived here my entire life and still love each and every time I get to get away up in the hills.
I think I have found every road out there but I could be wrong. My Great Grandfather homesteaded in Potrero and my Grandmother was the Post Master in her day. I have spent many days exploring out there and hope to spend many more.

and I've found great hard pack dirt roads too. I've only been here since 1976 when the Navy sent me here. Haven't left.

Here's the plan for now.
The forecast is calling for rain end of next week, but we're hoping it doesn't hit. The 6th works best for my BIL and I.

Here's the route we'll be taking..
http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.c...8&locale=en_US

Hope to get an 8am start in Huntington Beach area. Going to post this in the SoCal Nomads group as well and contact other riding buddys of mine.

Right now it should be at least myself, my BIL, a co-worker of mine, and Mr. Lucky (bob).

If the 6th is a bust due to weather, we'll try to push to the 13th.

If you want to meet us in Julian or along the way anywhere, let's exchange some celly numbers by PM.

I hope the long range forecasts for rain on the 6th are wrong, because I have a conflict on the 13th (family bs).
