Funny thing is... the guy who rides that scooter does own a nice custom dyna. He lives close to work and prefers the scoot for his commute.

 

I knew a bunch of mods when i was a kid. Full blown vespas with 18 lights in front and ****...funny subculture.

 

used to see them zip'n 'round HB. Haven't seen any for a few years now.
I guess the scoot stores had very large Lights and Mirrors sections.

I made it to cooks. Didn't see SCB (actually wouldn't have known if I did), but had another good french dip and stiff drink.

I work not too far from cooks. And I typically ride to work. So I often have lunch there.

 

north side or south side of the canyon? That ride in from the north is awesome

 

South.
Actually work near the spectrum. Lots of riding choices from here.

When it's slow, and I need to clear my head.... I hit cooks then maybe ride thru Live Oak Canyon by O'Neil park and back to work down thru Mission Viejo, or take Santiago N to Jamboree and back.

Other choice lunch destinations are Laguna Beach via Laguna Cyn Road, or SJC/Dana Point area, but that's mostly fwy to get there.

It's either ride the bike or sit in the lunch room with peeps I see all day anyway.

Yeah, I know.

Earlier this year, about 3 days after my wife and I met with friends at cooks, and rode with them thru LOC, some teens killed themselfs when they wrapped their mustang around a tree.

But it's one of the best (short) rides around here. And I typically ride it during the day.
Though a few weeks ago I was in the area and rode thru at night. I wondered for a few minutes if I should or not. I did, with caution.

 

do you know if the higher percentage of wrecks / fatalities is bikes or cars?

that article actually pissed me off. I'm obviously not a huge fan of busting people for every little thing but those fckers are putting a LOT of other people's lives in jeopardy!
