You Gotta Love Souther California ( SoCal )...

Did get some riding in this week before this 2-Day light rain...
l.b. city hall yesterday to contest a metered parking citation ( I waited until the last day ).
Aiming at reduced fine, but ya never know, the silliest written excuse may get a chuckle out of the gate keeper and I may just get a happy response... and I wrote about 200 words ( needed another page ).
Dirsuper, thanks for mentioning your description of your back yard. that reminded me of what was behind my backyard when I was 13: about 3 square miles of undeveloped hill-country with rocks and plenty of bushes and hard dirt... and me and my little 80cc tearing up every animal trail found... it was an awesome experience of exploring at 40 m.p.h... I would occasionally race a friend of mine with his 125cc.
Oh nostalgia.

Really?
I've never noticed anything like that around here. When I'm at the river in AZ, I do see bilboards and hear spots on the radio reminding drivers to watch for motorcyclists. Always thought that was very cool.

Does anyone have any idea what's going on with the "watch for motorcyclists" signs? It seems like is started just a couple of weeks ago right when it started raining.
Should say "Listen for Harleys"...

Got this from another site:
I'm glad to see this campaign. I hope it works.

Here's what the state says about it.
Thank you for your recent note regarding the Caltrans-CHP motorcycle
awareness campaign, planned to be conducted from Thursday, February 11
through Thursday, February 18, 2010. Throughout this period, Caltrans, in
conjunction with a media campaign by the California Highway Patrol (CHP),
will display the message “Share the Road, Look Twice for Motorcyclists”on
overhead changeable message signs throughout the State, during the morning
and afternoon commute periods, where feasible and when it does not create
an adverse impact.
Caltrans is an active participant in safety campaigns and provides similar
safety messages utilizing our traffic operations system equipment including
changeable message signs (CMSs) and highway advisory radios (HARs).
Maintaining and enhancing safety on highways requires sound engineering
standards and practices on our part, reasonable levels of enforcement, and
well-informed and responsible highway users. We are pleased that this
educational campaign is receiving a favorable response from many affected
users.
I thank you again for taking the time to share your insight and very much
appreciate your interest in enhancing traffic safety on Bay Area State
