Maui is pretty small. i don't think you will find anyone here that lives there. A buddy of mine lived there for a year and said it was great. my daughter went there for a week and said she would move there in a heartbeat if she could. I was told that people just leave the keys in the car all the time as it's not going anywhere. My daughter while there did some cliff jumping said she was too scared to dive. She was talking about it for months. Take $$$ it's not cheap.
