September 5, 2009 – The Big Ride from Biggs to Oakley
7:00 a.m. On-site registration opens inside of Biggs Harley-Davidson. If you
have friends who have not registered for the ride, they must register prior to
staging. Day of registration is $35.00 but does not include tee shirt, pin or
patch.
7:00 a.m. Pre-registered riders must check in inside of Biggs Harley-Davidson,
pick up a rider’s package and stage motorcycle for departure to Oakley.
Note: all riders must have colored “dot” on head light to stage for departure.
Your colored dot can only be picked up inside of Biggs Harley-Davidson at
check-in.
Riders may stage in the appropriate group departure only after check in, not
before.
8:00 a.m. Both Biggs Harley-Davidson and the 1st Marine Division Association
will host a pancake breakfast with refreshments. Get there early, once the
pancakes are gone, they are gone.
8:30 a.m. Road Captains rider meeting, main stage.
8:30 a.m. Introduction of D.B. Sweeney (Grand Marshall for The Honor Run) and
Dave Barr.
9:05 a.m. Riders meeting, main stage. This will be a review of the timeline
for departure and rules of the ride.
9:30 a.m. First group departs, Dave Barr, D.B. Sweeney and active duty
military only.
9:40 a.m. Second group departs, National Road Captain, Terry Porter and Alan
Gadberry leads cross country riders only.
9:50 a.m. Third group starts departing. This group will be the largest group
and will be broken into groups of 75 to 100 riders per departure. Each group
will have a minimum of three to five Road Captains assigned to escort the group
from Biggs Harley-Davidson to Oakley.
10:15 a.m. All riders are to have departed for Oakley.
10:45 a.m. First group arrives at Oakley.

Had a GREAT TIME.
When riding past Penelton they had 1,000 full size flags out, Oakley was a great host. Bikes of all makes, hot rods, street rods, concerts.
1st group out was about 40 bikes - The cross country group.
2nd group was active military.
then 5 groups of 75 bikes 5 minutes apart. Cars were actually being polite going down the I-5 with some pulling over to take pictures.
I was 3rd from the last in the last group. Picture is from about 5 minutes from destination.
