Vegas Bike Fest - October
#11
I've done both Red Rock and Mt. Charleston. Charleston is a real nice ride especially during the summer - you get up off the desert floor and actually into pine-tree lined roads. Red Rock Canyon is beautiful, but the ride's a bit shorter (the scenic drive is about 13 miles long). Valley of Fire is also a great ride, done that too - but some people might bitch about the length (I wouldn't, but some might) - 60 miles or so.
I'm down for any of these

The promoters of this event have done a stellar job of kcufing it up the past few years. The Sahara? They might as well picked the Gold Spike or the Western for the HQ.
Went from the first in '02 until '06 then have not been back. Been going to Street Vibes in Reno.
The real killer of this event is when they stopped having decent free concerts on Fremont Street on Friday and Saturday night.
If you go to the LVBF website you will notice the downtown hotels have given up on this event. It is business as usual for them, rooms are available at discount rates.
I got 5 nights at the Plaza this year for great price, will be there on the dates of the event but will be making our own party. Will be intersting to see how dumbed down it has gotten the last 3 years.
I know I sound kind of negative but it is ridiculous to try to pack this event into one venue, Cashman Center. Liked it much better when it was spread all over downtown.
