Good riding routes in SoCal??????
I live in the Long Beach area and was wondering where are all the nice rides are? I know there is one with alot of twisties out in Ventura right? Also, isn't there one in Orange County where there is a famous bar/grill along the route? Cooks Corner comes to mind?????
One other thing, maybe you all can give some directions to these rides???
TIA

Try US 1 (PCH) north of LA where Hwy 10 ends. It's the beach route with lights. When you get up past Malibu the lights thin out. Good road would be Decker Canyon at the County line (LA and Ventura). This will take you out to 101.
Honestly, get a Rand McNally map of where you live, open it to the reference maps and start looking for a 'spagetti road' (twisty) on the outskirts of town/city. Those seem to be the best. Have the fun is finding that little gem and the other half is riding it.
Never know, you may find one we don't know about.

Mulholland is a nice road to ride. That where my sig. pic was taken. You can stop at the rock store and then head up to Neptunes Net. Pretty much all the canyons on the Ventura, LA County line are nice roads to ride. Just be carefull if you go out after it rains. The road get alot of gravel in that area after is rains.

Cook's Corner is easy to get to. From LB, take 22 east to 55 north, exit Chapman Ave east. Shortly after Chapman and Santiago Cyn merge, it becomes a wide open country road. Just follow it past the turn-offs for Silverado Cyn and Irvine Lake. You'll see Cook's on the left at the corner of El Toro Rd (the road you'll be travelling on) and Live Oak Cyn, in Trabuco Canyon. If you find yourself in Lake Forest, you've gone too far.

Long Beach to Gas Lamp Quarter - 150 miles
Some of Southern California's best places to visit. Follow the Pacific Ocean south from Long Beach through Orange County, a military base and airfield, San Diego's harbor, then into the Gaslamp Quarter. This is a full day's ride. A great way to escape for a day.

Decker Canyon, Malibu Canyon, Grimes Canyon, Glendora Ridge, Azusa Canyon, Ortega highway, 243 to Idyllwild, 74 out of Palm Springs, Julian, Palomar, Angeles Crest (cringe), Ojai, Lockwood Canyon. Rim of the world, Big Bear... And the list goes on. If you like desert routes, I know a bunch there too
Hell, just look for a hill (not Signal) or mountain, and head that direction. You're bound to find something
