If you ride next to a "Ralph's Grocery Store" truck the scenery can be very pretty. They usually paint nice pictures on the side of the trucks.

Ahh....what the other guys said.

What about all the paint on the buildings? With the traffic being so heavy it really gives you a chance to slow down and enjoy all the urban art work.

I've been to the Rock Store, Hells Kitchen and Cooks Corner and they are OK but my favorite ride is out hwy 79 south from Temecula. First stop is at the Hideout which is 40 miles east of Temecula and then a couple of miles south of the junction of hwy 79 and hwy 76. Then back to the 79 and continue up to Julian, a real nice ride, not a lot of traffic and tons of bikes on it every weekend too. I have met riders that trailer their bikes out of the L.A. madness to ride in that area.

The rock store is a cool place, but there is too much freeway riding to get to it IMO. At least from where I live.

I agree with both of you. Nice ride. My variation of the Julian ride. Living in Riverside I like to go up by Lake Mathews then cruise down the hill and hit the "old road" Temescal Canyon Road, go by Toms Farms with a nice cruise passed Lee Lake into Lake Elsinore at Lake Street. From there I head west on Lake Street through town until I hook up with Grand Ave. that runs along the West side of Lake Elsinore. I stay on Grand Ave., passed Ortega Hwy... all the way to Clinton Keith Rd. Mind you, I haven't touched a Freeway as of yet. Once again I head west on Clinton Keith Rd.
up passed Bear Creek to the Santa Rosa Plateau where the two lane road flattens out some and the riding is fantastic! Up on the plateau you will soon find yourself among acres & acres of avocado groves with third and fouth gear riding, up, down, twisties but almost zero traffic. At Tenaja Rd stay to the right and it will become Via Volcano if you stay straight. At Avocado Mesa Rd make a hard left...(careful here...always lots of loose sand) just for a short distance and it will become Los Gatos Rd after a sharp right turn....here it's a very steep downhill ( I use second gear) to a stop sigh at Carancho Rd. I make a left turn on Carancho Rd to more Up & down riding...lots of avocados...until I reach Sandia Creek Rd.....where I make a right turn. Stay on Sandia Creek Rd for the majority of the incredible ride until you find and it becomes De Luz Rd. Continue on De Luz Rd south all the way into the town of Fallbrook. When you get to Mission Rd in Fallbrook, make a left turn (East) and take Mission to the 15 Freeway South for just a VERY SHORT distance to Hwy 79 (Pala Rd) head east out passed the casino to the Hideout..or from there take hwy 79 and on into Julian for some well deserved pie. The directions sound alot harder than they actually are, and it's such a nice ride.
Ride safe, and have some pie...
