Default Planning Pacific Coast Trip

I live on the East Coast, but next April I have a wedding to go to in the SF area. I'm thinking about renting a bike and riding along the coast, either north or south. Anyone have any advice on way to go where to stop, stay, etc.

Thanks

Either direction is fine. April will still be on the cool side in SF but hopefully not too rainy.

Might be easier to fly into SF , do the wedding then rent and ride 1 way and head south and fly back home from Los Angeles.

Plenty of great stops along the way. Just depends on how much time you have and how many miles you'd like to ride per day.

Do a search here in the Pacific Forum for some great ride ideas that have been posted for SF to LA and SF north from the past.

Have fun planning.

I like the coast ride going north of SF much better than south. Only problem, April is going to be much colder headed north and very likely wet.

I agree totally. The weather is a concern going north. Much prettier though. Just figured it would be easier and potentially drier if doing a one way rental to go south.

Thumbs up

If you are lucky with the weather, Highway 1 South from S.F, more specifically, Monterey down to San Luis Obispo is one of the most spectacular coastal scenic rides in the country. A twisty fantastically scenic ride.
