touring info for the seattle area
I will be renting an ultra for a week out of Bellevue, Washington \\; (Seattle \\; area) in early Sept. \\; There looks to be great roads out there east, west &\\; south of Seattle. \\; Any suggestions on \\; places to go would be greatly appreciated.

Two days around the peninsula, all the way to Neah Bay and walk to the end to see the lighthouse.
See Deception Pass bridge, and ride down Whidbey Island, taking the ferry at the end.
20 is a must even if you return on 530. Sept might be pushing it to go any further east on 20 into the mountains.
Have a great time.

RE: touring info for the seattle area
I just did the Highway 12 loop around Mt Rainier. Windy Ridge was CLOSED so we did not get to Mt St Helens. The road in Mt Rainier Nat Park (Hwy 123 I think) was under construction with long sections of loose gravel (great for a dirt bike but not a Harley). Hwy 20 should be nice that time of year and central Washington should have cooled off a bit by then. I'm partial to the road down the Yakima River canyon but it's kind of short. Mt Baker Highway if a good road that time of year too. Try Steve's idea...roadsnw.com
