What's the best route from Victorville/Hesperia to Big Bear Lake? Would prefer the most scenic ...

The best way is to take Highway 18 out through Lucerne Valley to Big Bear. It's a nice ride.

 

Yup, Highway 18 , up the "back side" of the mountain.
Once up there, 18 will turn into Hwy 38, and take you along the North Shore...unless you cross
the bridge...staying with Hwy 18 into Big Bear City

Another route 15 south to 138 towards Lake Silverwood. Pass it and go through Crestline. Stop at Lake Gregory. Head towards 18 to Running springs, go through onto Big Bear. Probably my favorite ride. Those 10 or 12 miles between Lake Silverwood and Crestline are full of beautiful scenery and tight twisties.
