Default Quincy HOT HOT spots

I have a brother and sister in law Ron and Lou that live in Quincy.
Would like to look at local meets rides and joints.
Will probably ride out to Vegasthan upto Quincy from there.
Towns and gas looks far and few .
Any sugestions best route from Vegas to Quincy?

Thanks Bob

Don't know the best route but you shouldn't have any trouble getting gas I don't think. Maybe see what mapquest comes up with. I live in Quincy and was wondering if I know your brother. What's his last name? By the way, on July 18-21 we're having the fist annula Plumas Gold Run here in Quincy. Hoping for a big turn out.

I'd suggest taking US-395 north to the CA-89 jct. Stay on CA-89 over
Monitor Pass to Markleeville, South Lake Tahoe, Truckee and Quincy.

Have been to Quincy countless times. Always liked Stoney's Burgers.
We thought about relocating there in 2002, but gets too much snow!

Hey grumbler, whatcha mean to much snow? I think just the right amount...lol. Gotta get a snowmobile for winter, then you always want snow. Where are you and are you coming up in July for the Plumas Gold Run?

By the way Grumbler has a pretty good route to get here but an easier way might be to stay on 395 through Reno north heading to Susanville and turn off at hallelujah junction on Hwy 70 west.

You get 40" of snow as well as 40" of rainfall each year! Am in Boise, ID where we get half
the snowfall and a quarter of the rainfall. Never cared much for the thumb throttles on the
snowmobiles and ATVs ... gimmie a twistgrip. ;^)

My sister and her husband own property in Quincy as they love it there, but they moved to
Victoria, BC several years ago and are still holding onto it. You have *great* motorcycle
roads out of Quincy.

Will be out on the Redwood Coast early next month, and that's my only trip to CA this year.

If you're into stuporslab droning and all that congestion riding through Carson City then go for it! ;^)

My so-called pretty good route would be the most enjoyable oneas it's a verycool and scenic route
all the way up. Might be a bit of traffic around Lake Tahoe though.

According to my M/S Streets & Trips 2005, the mileage and riding time from the US-395/CA-89 jct to Quincy
via US-395 and CA-70 is 151 miles in 2:49 hours. If he takes CA-89 all the way, 163 miles in 3:30 hours. So,
it all depends on whether he can spare an extra 41 minutes for the scenic route.

I also like the CA-49/Gold Lake Rd loop off CA-89.
