Default Got sunburnt in Oregon

[:@]Ohh! my face hurts but it was a great weekend ride.

Left work 3:00 Friday and rode down to Redmond,OR to visit my Mother for her 83rd B-Day.(250 miles)
Saturday I went for a ride over to Bend,OR and around the area putting on about 130 miles before returning to Mom's to take her out for a nice dinner and then stay the night again.
Today (Sunday) I took the scenic route home making it a 9 hour ride back.

For a change it was a real sunburn[8D]
Forgot the sunblock this morning and it was just cloudy enough to not realize I was getting cooked till it was too late.

Nice photo's. I forget what it's like over there.
Sunburn is readily available there I remember.
Now, RUST, that is available here on the coast where I'm at and it's FREE right along with the Fog and Rain.
I'm going to take a trip to Bend and beyond this summer if all goes well this spring.

Cool Pics. The northwest has so many types of rides available. I keep hearing about the "Alps of Oregon" somewhere past "Christmas Valley" I plan to ride there this summer.

The Alps of Oregon would be the Wallowas up in NE Oregon near Joseph,Christmas Valley is out in the SE desert near Fort Rock,no mountains very near there.

There's a nice ride from Wallowa Lake & the town of Joseph through the forest to Halfway,OR near Hells Canyon .
Also Joseph Canyon over to Lewiston,ID on highway 3 is stunning.

Bet Joseph Canyon was a lot more fun on a bike than it was three years go when I pulled a 30' fifth wheel over it. Must do that ride some day. Great pics as usual.

Ride Safe.

There is a lot of good riding in Oregon. I grew up in the western part and now I am in the eastern part of the state. There is some great country in the Santiam Pass area and also in the southern part. There was made mention about the Wallowa's being the Alps of Oregon. They are right about that. There is some good riding going up to the Wallowa country. You have to watch out for the little/big critters that like to cross the road once in awile, but getting there is worth the trip. There's more than one way to get there and each way holds its own beauty. There's a park by the lake. If you are lucky, you will see deer there and you can get really close to them. They are used to being around people and sometimes you can get some really great pics of them. I feel that it's worth the trip to anybody that wants to make it.

Last summer I went from Halfway, Ore to Joseph via the back country and the trip was worth it. There are a lot of switchbacks to make things interesting, but when we got to Joseph. There were a lot of tourists there that looked pretty good, if you know what I mean. There were also a lot of bikes there. I found a place that served a good hamburger. I don't think that anybody could go wrong with a trip to the Wallowa country.
