Default Vegas help for a midwesterner...

I am heading to Vegas for my 40th birthday! (woo hoo). Was going to rent a bike through the HOG Fly n Ride program except the state of Nevada hasn't approved the paperwork for the Fly n Ride program yet? WTF? So instead of getting the bike for $100/day I have to pay $155/day, the stealer rate!! [:@]

OK, rant over. My GF and I are going to ride out and about in the Vegas area and want to do the Red Rock thing and she wants to head to the damn Dam tour and I want to take her to Searchlight for some 'culture' and the little casino right there on the main highway. Any other areas that we should hit? Looking for maybe finding a little casino out in the middle of nowhere and making some memories. Thanks for any help!

You might try fly n ride into Phoenix Az. It a great 5 hr ride (300 mi) to Vegas from there and you will ride over the dam on your way there. From Phoenix take hwy 60 to Wickenburg get onto hwy 93 there to vegas, a gorgeous senic ride through the Joshua Tree mtns.. You might also try Kingman Az its only 90 mi up hwy 93 over the dam to Vegas. Hope this might work for you.

You can also ride from Kingman into Laughlin onto Searchlight and to vegas, a lot of options to rent in Az.

Teh state hasn't approved it or just Las Vegas Harley? You might want to try Henderson Harley, they are a different owner.

Valley of Fire State Park is a nice area. It's NE of Vegas. Beautiful and odd shaped Red Rocks. It's not a large park and not many ammenities but worth the trip.

How long are you gong to have the bike for? I can help you come up with a little route. Also try my website listed in my sig. (shows Las Vegas and surrounding area destinations, the destinations are no where near complete as of right now).

I'm thinking very little 'culture' in Searchlight ... home of Harry Reid

Nevertheless, there are those 'out of the way' Casinos there. Head on past Searchlight to Laughlin (40 miles). FYI: Laughlin River Run starts April 23 (thru 27th) ...
Oatman is a fun western town to head thru (past Laughlin and towards Kingman) looping back over the dam (although I always worry that I'll get stuck in the Dam traffic heading North from Kingman, but ya never know).

Pahrump has some out of the way casinos and you can head out to Furnace Creek (Death Valley) and back thru Shoshone or Tecopa (check out a map). Mesquite has casinos andyou can head back via Overton and Lake Mead.

Lot's of places to see ...

Like the guy above me suggested Oatman,Arizona.....Take the road that connects to interstate 40......That road is scenic and a riding challenge. Hot as hell here in july and august...

there a little casino called the Longbranch just north of the Death Valley Park entrance, right on the Cali/Nev state line....
