SoCal Rider's Laughlin Thread
The River Run will be April 23rd through the 27th.
I was thinking about riding up to Las Vegas on Friday,if there's noreservations availablein Laughlin.
We'll leave early a.m.Saturday for a ridethrough Hoover Damn and down the 95 toLaughlin for a full day. If there's no rooms there we can head back to Vegas and leave for home Sunday morning after breakfast. Just my thoughts for now.
Things to consider.
Your bike must be in perfect condition, tune up, oil changed and good tires.
Have at least $1,000.00 for the whole trip. Gas, food, lodging and entertainment.
Stowage is a must so figure your bags out.
I would like to know who's sure about going. I'll start calling hotels afterall of you have responded.
Take a few days to figure it all out and then post your thoughts.
Once I know where we'll be staying we can plan out the rest of the weekend.

There are still resonable rate rooms in Kingman (stayed there last year) and Needles but the rates may go up. Was thinking of Needles since it's a little closer, 25 mi as opposed to 32mi. That way you can get 1/2 day in or night on Friday. I followed a good tip; stay off the main drag in Laughlin, bumper to bumper 24hrs, and hard to park. (The one time I rode it I almost overheated and it was 1:30 am!) There is secured free parking across from the Riverside just south of the bridge on the AZ side. River Ferry you accross, no charge, and it's fast. From there you can walk or take the river taxis. The weather was beautiful (80's) up until the week of the event and then it hit summer time 100+. Still enjoyed the riding (Oatman, route 66, etc) more than the event itself. Very cool to see all those bikes. Lots of eye candy butvery fewunattached women there. If you're a drinker you need to stay in Laughlin but I think it's sold out or you have to book multiple nights. Oh yeah, Kingman was more than 10 degrees cooler!

Here's the unofficial confirmation list:
Andrew
Lou
Dan
Ed
Ray
-Please let me know if you are bringing girlfriends or riding solo.
I'm considering reserving 4 rooms. I usually get my own room however, I've offered to share with Andrew. Would any of you share with others??? ie: Dan & Lou and Ray & Ed. Then I'll only reserve 3 rooms.
Please post your comments.
