Have a family wedding to attend on May 24th (Memorial Day Weekend) in Monterey, CA.

Since it is a holiday weekend Im planning on leaving the L.A. area probably onThursday the 22nd and coming back the following Sunday the 25th to avoid all the traffic on Friday and Monday. Roughly 350-400 miles each way.

Leisurely 2 day ride up and all day in the saddle Sunday coming back unlesswe decide on taking our time and using the whole holiday weekend.

Going to try and hit as many HD dealers between north of Santa Mariaup to Monterey as possible (already been to all the other HD dealers from Mexican border to Santa Maria).

Here's the preliminary route/ plan:

Thursday: Leave the L.A.area and head up the 5 to the 99 to ( All H-D Dealer locations) Bakersfield, Visalia, 2 stops in Fresno. Thursday night's stay somewhere between Fresno and Los Banos.

Friday: Los Banos, Watsonville, Salinas and Monterey.

Saturday: Everyone is on their own in Monterey.

Sunday: Return to the L.A. area via the 101 with a stop atthe H-D dealer in Atascadero.

Everyone is welcome and please feel free to jump in or off the route at any point.

Sounds fun, I'd like to go. A buddy of mine, Mel, whom you may know from PGR, would probably want to go too. But, money is going to be tight for me for awhile, so it depends on how things are looking.

 

Interested. If available I would like to go.

Like I told you on Saturday, depending on the date and work load.

 

Hubby and I celebrate 13 years of married bliss (ok maybe not bliss but something like that) that weekend. Sounds like fun though

 

You should take highway 1 north from San Luis Obispo! Incredibly beautiful ride! And that's a good time, less chance of fog in May/June. I've been on it on a holiday weekend, traffic's not that bad, plus who wants to be in a hurry? Just pull over and take some pictures, plenty of places to stop.

 

If it was strictly pleasure that sounds like the way to go. Trying to hit 7-8 H-D dealers that I have never been to so I'm stuck with the 99 going up most of the way. Will try to do the 1 part of the way home though.
