Coast for sure.

 

Take the COAST all the way to PA for sure. Take some extra time to see all the sights. You will not be disapointed at all.

having made the trip to oregon several times I would go 5 till I could get above san francisco then the 101 the rest of the way depending on the weather of course and time of year early to mid summer 101 ok/good

Living in the western part of Oregon(about 60 miles from the coast) almost all of my life,I have been to and ridden the coast on several occassions. I think I can say, "Take the coast the whole way up to Port Angeles. I lived up at FT Lewis for 4 years and spent some time on the Washington coast as well. It's beautiful also. To many thing to see and do on the coast. If you go at the right time you can hit the MC rally in seaside.If your going to be in Port Angeles for any amount of time I recomend taking the ferry over to Victoria BC. Excellent trip to go on. If you want let me know when and where your coming through and maybe I can ride up a few miles with you. I live in Springfield Oregon and might have a place for you to stay for a night if you need. Hope you have a good trip.

 

5 is the fastest......101 has better scenery but is slow through small towns etc. im in sd too. wife and I each have bikes. roadglide and streetglide. riding to alaska this june and will go up 5 to cross the border. if you would like to chat.....bill @ 619.913.0127 my cell

Highway 1 between Morro Bay and Monterey is unbelievable! A must see!I'm sure the 1 further north would be pretty awesome as well. AAA has a special map of this route.

 

Headed to Portland next week and going to take the 5 up but plan on doing the coast coming back to San Diego.&nbsp\\; Wonder how the weather is this time of year on the coast?\\

 

ya mon....take the coast. You can drive on a freeway anywhere but there is only one Highway 101 - nothing else like it.
