Anyone going to Palm Springs this weekend? I am heading out of Oceanside around 8am on Sat. Has anyone been to the Am Heat Palm Springs MC Week?

I've ridden out for the day the last couple years.The town seems to be pretty biker friendly during this time.The actual event itselfhas the same ol same ol as far as vendors and such.Kinda boring to me unless ,you're looking for something specific.Last year it was located adjacent to the Spa Hotel and Casino which I thought was a good location.Especiallyif you like to gamble.Looks like they've changed the location again this year.There were quite a few bike out there last year and not just at the event ,but all over town.I worked out there in Indio today and the weather was perfect.Not too hot.Looks like the same forecastfor all week.

 

My BIL went last year. It's put on by the same promoter that did the "event"(?) at Viejas a month or so ago.And they did the event at the Rose Bowl last year, which I did go to. If you've been to one, you've been to all. Same vendors, same cr*p, no custom bikes, very Un-eventful. We're meeting up with a bunch of HDF'ers at West Coast Choppers on Saturday. That will be an "Event"

 

I went last year. Had good times with the friends and on the strip but was disappointed with the venue. Its about the Journey not the destination anyway so enjoy.

 

Live within 30 min of DT Palm Springs and have been attending this one for many-many years... Since they moved the site to a Parking Lot and taken it away from Downtown - It has went Down-Hill Fast... I still go... The vendor show is a 30 min walk thru with not much to look at... and they have a beer garden a two & a Live Band... And it's a short walk to the Casino accross the parking lot... Friday & Sat Nights there's COPS EVERYHERE and they normally set-up check points on the main drag (Hwy 111)

 

If anyone is going down Friday the wind on Indian Ave. will be 35 to 50 mph which translates into "sand storm!" I'll probably go on Saturday. It's only 30 minutes down the hill from me.

 

My BIL's Springer got sandblasted last year when he went. Not a happy camper.

 

Did anyone go to this event today ? If so how was it ?
