Andy,

Why not plan something a little sooner rather than months away? We stillhave all of thatnice warm weather of summer....

And why not make it a ride vs. just going someplace and sitting around all day?

How about a ride through Ojai and up through the canyons of the 33? There's a biker BBQ joint just before the canyons.

Sounds like you’re volunteering to be the ride coordinator [:-]

I'm very familiar with the route. If needed, I'm here to help!

Has anyone been to Camp Scheideck? I know it's located off Lockwood Valley Road but I've never been there. I think it's on a short dirt road. I really don't like riding on dirt but it may be worth a look??

Yes I was there. The ride I suggested will pass the turn off on Lockwood Valley Road. It's a hamburger/bar shack with an outhouse located in a backwoods setting. Food was okay however they couldn't handle serving everyone at the same time. Mostly Harley riders and some hardcore biker locals that hang out....maybe that's how we felt back then, of course we were on sportbikes too!

Yes you have to travel at least a good mile or so on a dirt road up and down hill.

I personally don'trelishhaving toride in the dirt.

If you're curious, it's worth a look.

Ok, Devil's Advocate here: Does it have to be a "biker joint" with already big crowds and packed parking?

Couldn't itbe some other cool place where it's less crowded so we could all hang out together and checkout each others bikes more easily?

Ya know, the folks who live in So Kali come-up with some great ideas. I’m with Primo, it would make it more (for the lack of better words) intimate. This should open-up a plethora of new ideas & places to meet.

How ‘bout a park or camping area (no dirt :~) Pick-nick, etc.

Ive been up to Camp Scheideck many times, the dirt road area is small, nothing to worry about. the only area that could be a problem is the dirt and rock parking area, rest is a piece of cake. That is a great ride, and you can get to it from ojai (101 freewy), or frazier park(5 freeway).

Pioneer Town or Idylwild? Good location, good food.
