Default Warranty work in Canada on a US bike and other import questions

Will HD Canada do warranty work on a used bike brought in from the US? Not that I expect much work or any to be done, it's just the idea. I'm looking at buying a used V-Rod (2007 or 2008) and bringing it up.

I've brought in ATVs to Canada from the US before - is the only thing needed a Recall Letter from HD, and ownership/title?

If I choose to ride it in - through Ontario - how do you get a trip permit to bring it all the way? I'll check the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and see, but hoping some people have some readily available information.

Cheers.

If the bike has a warranty you have to have any work covered by the warrenty done in the US.

Us Customs requires a copy of your ownership 72 hours in advance of you crossing the border with the bike, this allows them to do a title search.

Bullshit. HD warranty is good in any country that officially had HD dealers. There was an HD release in the last year or so that said that all HD dealers will honor HD factory warrany regarless of country of purchase.

They built it...they'll fix it.

Yeah right, what planet are you on? they may fix it eventually but you better hope it doesn't break down in the spring or summer because you aint getting it back till fall.
Before you buy in the US talk to Iceman on here, his US bike sat in the shop from the end of May till September waiting for a lifter!
Just consider the local dealer who sponsers your kids ball team then you stab him in the back by buying a bike in the US, then you have the nerve to demand that he fix it for you in the middle of his short busy season? no way it's going to happen.
