lifetime oil changes at dealer?
On a new bike purchase the Dealer is offering me oil changes for life, HD 360 oil is $399.00, Syn 3 is $459.00, that's in Cdn $$. Minimum mileage is 4,000 between changes.
I've always done my own changes, and I have 2 cases of Amsoil 20W50 along with enough Amsoil Filters in the basement, but I no longer have the sales receipts, so I couldn't prove I did the oil changes if something went wrong for warranty work.
Is a similar promo being done in the US? Opinions? Run like hell?
thanks
brian

Exactly what items are included?
Sounds more like a service interval than an oil change and that is very different.
$1 ca= to 0.93 USA
I have seen the "FREE" similar in the USA BUT it was the engine oil and engine oil filter only...Basically a profit center since you were limited to the ONE dealer for the free service(dealer was basically gambling $20 in parts) ....then they pushed the high dollar regular service intervals with fears about warranties and such.
Another outfit offered "free" tires for life but again you were limited to basic black tires , must be installed at the dealer and still had to pay $80 dollars to mount and balance
EACH free tire...then again with the pushing stuff and general fear pushing to service this or that.

Confirmed with the dealer that the price is for the engine oil, filter and labour only. I think I'll just stick to doing this myself and keep track of when the oil was changed and the mileage.
thanks
