Discussing oil is almost as bad as politics and religion LOL. Having said that, I run Amsoil in the engine because it is readily available at the dealer 1 mile from my house. I'm sure any reputable company's synthetic will work just fine. Just make sure you are running the right weight.

Which Mobil 1 do you use in the primary case? 75-90?

I use 75-90. I used Mobil 1 in my 08 RK. I decided to try Royal Purple this time. Tranny goes into neutral easier with Royal Purple. From what I understand 75-90 gear oil is the same viscosity as 25w50 motor oil.

I've used Harley's Syn3, Redline, and AMSoil in my bikes before. To be honest, I cannot tell a difference with either of them. Maybe I just never paid attention to it. Just lube the sumbich and ride. I just like using synthetic. They all come from the ground.

Just remember the Syn3 is only a synthetic blend, but they charge a synthetic price. The name is misleading if you ask me.
