Default Mobil 1 gear oil question

I know the Mobil 1 engine oil will say "V-Twin" on the bottle. Is this also the case for the transmission oil everyone is talking about? Or is it the standard Mobil 1 75/90 gear lube found on the shelf at Wal Mart?

Thanks

Default RE: Mobil 1 gear oil question

It is the standard Mobil One 75/90 gear oil. It does not say V Twin on it. Just for your info. That gear oil is an over kill Use it if you like but all you need in a Harley Transmission is an oil with an API GL-1 rating. I believe that gear oil has an API GL-5 rating. Lots of EP additives not needed to lubricate Spur Gears which is what you have in your transmission.
