Default Metal shards in oil after Twin Cam rebuild

Hey, brand new here- Anyway, I have a 1999 FXDX, Twin Cam, and recently had the motor rebuilt to 96", Woods Tw.510 cam. I'm on my third oil and filter change (about 500 miles into the break-in), and every time, there are metal shavings in my drain plug magnet and the oil is glittered with metal. Not on speaking terms with the guy who did the job, but he was a reputable mechanic in town.. The bike seems to be running fine, but the metal is bothering me. Any ideas?

Why do you think there is a magnetic drain plug?! It's there to collect shards of metal. Why are you not on talking terms with your mechanic? He is better placed than us to advise if all is OK. It is possible you have worrying about nothing, but talk to your man!

Why he is not on speaking terms with his mechanic is a point to ponder, but the OP has a legitimate concern.

"Shards of metal" means to me more than the very fine particles that cling to the magnet.
And "glitters of metal" in the oil yells something is very wrong.

Ok one post poster so ask a question before you spend to much time;-)
So was the rebuild to a 96 stroker crank or bored out cylinders to 95/96?
Was the bottom end done?
What modifications?

Someone forget to wash out the oil passage, and just slap it togather?
