Default synthetic @ first service

I had synthetic oil put in my 2012 Ultra Limited at the 1600 k service. The mechanic where I bought the bike suggested it when I purchased it. After talking to another dealership, they said I should be running the HD 360 for at least 5k. Of course that it always comes with a labour charge. Any recommendations as to what the standard protocol should be.

To bad the factory didn't know what the dealer seems to know. They put syn in the 110's from the factory. As does Gm in Corvettes and others.

Synthetic oil is thinner and cools faster but noisier because it's thinner. At least that's what I've read. Good and bad in my book.

Well they were right. Had the oil changed back to 20/50. What a difference. Sounded like a major bearing failure with synthetic.
