Default What do dealers charge for oil changes?

I decided to do my own 1000 mile service and additional oil changes myself on my 06 StreetGlide.
Local dealer mechanic actually told me that as long as you keep your receipts and follow the book, warranty wont be a problem.
So, I went to autozone and bought Mobil 1 Vtwin 20*50 (4 qts.) and a quart of Mobil 1 75-90 Syn gear oil for the trans. Cost was 43.00 . Now I need a HD filter (13.00),a quart of Formual + for the primary, and maybe a gasket or so for the derby cover/inspection cover.
Now my question, what do dealers charge for oil changes only? Seems I will have alot in doing it myself, and was curious if I am saving anything at all other than not risking the chips and scratches at the dealer... lol

About $80 or so. You save about $30 or so doing it yourself.

What type of synthetic oil would I need to get at Autozone for my 5k service if the dealer placed syn oil in all three holes at my 1000 mile? I live in Florida where it stays above 30 all the time.

I want to do it myself. I have the k&n air filter and will get the oil filter at the dealer. Also, will get the gaskets at the dealer.

Many thanks!

About 80.00 with regular oil or synthetic? I assume with regular as I will have 43.00 in thecrankcase and trans, another 7.00 for the formula + for the primary, about 13.00 for the filter, and ? for a gasket or 2...total of probably around 75.00 to do myself... but like I said, thats with Mobil 1 VTwin 20/50 syn in crankcase and Mobil Syn 75/90 gear oil in the trans, so i am sure that has added to my cost comapred to regual HD dino oil...

Oh, you meant all three holes? I thought you were just talking crank oil change with synthetic. You will save yourself a bundle doing all three holes

Most of the dealers here charge about $150+ to change all 3 fluids.

I don't know what they charge but it is too much, IMO.

I change all three holes for about 25 bucks.

A local dealer was selling HD dino for 1.99 a quart so I stocked up.

4 quarts of oil - 8 bucks
1 quart of primary - 5 bucks
1 black filter from a discount dealer - 6 bucks
22 oz. of tranny oil - 5 bucks

Still using the original derby cover o-ring. 7 years and 64k. She's still holding up.

Cool. I feel better about my own oil change now at around 70-75.00 with all the Mobil 1 stuff..was beginning to wonder about my time if it was only 80.00 or so at the dealer! lol

You are comparing an oil change to a 1K service.
An oil change would be a lotcheaper than a 1K,less labor.
You will only need the o rings for the tranny and oil drain plugs. The other gaskets can be reused a couple times.
