Default SVG 75w-90 vs SVO 75w-140 Amsoil

Guys, I just want to know the difference between the SVG 75w-90 vs the SVO 75w-140 Amsoil. I found out that my dealer carries Amsoil, but they only have the 75w-90 and not the 75w-140. They told me that I didn't need the 75w-140 and that I could use the 75w-90 on the transmission. Please help me out guys. I really trust your word better than theirs.

I have been using SVG 75/90 in my 03 Ultra Classic since it was new, the "Harley Clunk" when shifting is almost gone. As an AMSOIL Direct Jobber I can tell you that that is what AMSOIL recommends also. SVO 75/140 is the Alternate. here is a link to the AMSOIL Harley recommendation Chart https://www.amsoil.com/products/stre...oil_chart.aspx

They just came out with a 75w110.......check the amsoil website. It will give you a little more heat protection without sacrificing efficiency. I do think it is a good alternative.

My 92 Ultra Classic has a whine in 3rd and 4th gear. It had the HD Formula +, I switched to Moble 1, it was a little better then I went to Amsoil SVG 75W90 and saw a much lighter noise and better shift. I just ordered Amsoil'sSVO 75w-140 tonight to test it and see if it would reduce the nosie even more. Will post results in about two weeks.

Wanted to try Redline since I had heard only good about it. Had to travel 120 miles to another town today stopped at about 6 different locations looking for Redline Shockproof heavey, no luck, so ordered the heavest recommended for Harley bikes by Amsoil.

A lot of my customers and myself all run the 75W90, it shifts smooth as hell and gets rid of the clunk. Also, pretty quiet, but quite honestly, I can't hear much over my exhaust..

thats what I'm running now I like it but want to try the SVO 75/140 to see if I can get the noise down a little more. If not I'll just turn the radio up when in 3rd and 4th gear
