Default 07 Ultra - Primary Oil in Starter

I have a primary oil leak that is coming through the starter and collecting on top of the transmission. I cleaned and powdered the trans. and confirmed oil is coming from top. I then started checking oil levels in trans and in primary. Over 2wks primary lost a little under 10oz.

I have replaced the primary seal behind the clutch and no gasket leaks. Oil is collecting on top of tran.

I replaced o-ring on starter to primary.

Starter has oil in it and is not rebuild grease.

Anyone have this issue? Fix?

Unless things have changed on newer models thats to much oil. Mind you I haven't an 07, the latest Ive owned is 01, so check your manual to make sure here.
On all big twins Ive serviced/owned the bike needs to be straight up and down, not on the stand (same for trans oil check). The only oil lever checked on the jiffy stand is the engine oil. Once straight up and down its filled to the bottom edge of what looks like a stamped metal ring on the clutch hub. All toll no more than a quart ever went into any of the 5 bikes Ive ever owned.
If this is correct on your 07, then Id pretty confidently say the overfilling is causing to much pressure in the case causing it to look for an escape route and the starter is the way out.
Sure hopes this is the problem cause its an easy fix for you.
To add to this I did some diggin here its is in line with my post. 32oz max, bike needs to be straight up and down for visual check. If its drained good just add a quart and you'll be good to go.

Time to replace you starter clutch. The sealed bearing/over run clutch is leaking.

Nope on too much oil. According to manual you fill primary to lip with bike sitting on angle (kickstand).

I replaced the starter clutch and all is well. Here is a reply from AllBalls Racing;

Larry:

We discovered this issue quite awhile ago (2011) and changed all of our seals to full contact. So, yes, if you received old stock that wasn't pulled from our Distributors shelf it is possible. If you send me your address I will send you a replacement clutch.
