Default 07 FXDL oil question

Bike has 169 miles on it...oil level is right at where it says add a Qt...this is measured with engine cold and on jiffy stand is this OK? Does the level change that much when the engine is warm? Also oil looks a bit dark...not black...but maybe a amber color ...is this normal?

And when you read the level on the dipstick, did you see the statement that you are to check the oil at op temp?????

It's in your owners manual as well......

NEVER check the oil level cold..... it must be checked at the operating temp (engine 280).......

As far as color, it's just not dirty yet, you haven't ridden it enough.....

The only thing on the dipstick is where it says the full level should be when hot, and actually I did read the owners manual...Page 77...Dyna Models Owners Manual states.."Oil Level Cold Check...perform engine oil level COLD CHECK (thier bold letters not mine) as follows...it then goes on and describes the procedure....the oil level that I am seeing is lower than what they show it should be...they show it as being half way up between the arrows, it is only to the bottom arrow...this is why I am concerned and asked my question...should I notify the dealer about this...do the engines come with oil from the factory or is it added at the dealership before delivery? I don't see any kind of a leak and it does not appear to be blowing or burning any oil...should I be worried or should I just add some oil and go on?

Get the oil up to temp after about an hour of riding.......

then check it... fill as needed, but use only a littlebit each time... it is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too easy to overfill a bike.....

Yes, they do come with oil, and it should have been verified as correct at the dealership prior to you taking delivery......
