Default wix 51348 oil filter wrench

Anybody know where to get a oil filter oil filter wrench that slips on the back of a wix 51348 filter ? I have been to all the local auto parts stores an nobody has one that will fit the backs of these filters. Only other option is a big pair of channel locks to loosen so I can spin them off.

If you are using this for your twin cam then you need the wix 57148 (black) or the 57348 (chrome) They are direct replacements for the Harley filter. I havnt used a wix yet on my bike but will be on my next oil change and i have a couple of those filter socket tools that will fit a few different sizes so one of them should work. Cant remember where i got them from, it was many years ago. The auto stores should still have them. Just make sure you use the correct filter number above. You can go to the Wix web site and look up the differences between the 51348 and the 57148, the 57148 has the 5 micron rating and correct bypass setting and are speced for use on Harley's only.

I just changed CARQUEST filter and found this to be smaller in diameter. I've used amsoil filters and that filter wrench fit.. Hope this helps..

After I found the Harley wrench was too big, I used a strap wrench on a WIX today. Got it originally for use on the Duramax fuel filter. The strap is attached to a square tube that fits a 1/2" drive rachet/extension. Bought it at Tractor Supply.

O'Rileys has the Wix filters and the cup wrench that fits them. I've been using them for years, and in fact Wix used to make the filters for Harley at one time.

I went to two different O'rileys, three Autozones, and two Advance Auto's to try and find a oil wrench that would fit the Wix and no dice. Its just a little bit smaller than the HD filter or Mobil1

Agreed, I bought the cup wrench at O'riley's thinking it would fit. Turned out to be just a little too big.

Filter pliers or a strap wrench. The only time I use a cap style is when I can only touch the end of the filter because it's recessed.
