Oil light on when cool and not running

Hello,
I have a problem with my 2001 Super Glide. Yesterday, i went on a ride for about an hour (approx 30 miles). Everything seemed fine. (no odd noises or performance issues). The only thing that was different was I had a rider with me.
As I normally do after a ride, I parked it in the shade to cool off it off. After 3hrs it looked like it was going to rain so I went to move the bike to the garage. I turned the key and the oil lamp was on and remained on after several minutes. Naturally, I check the oil and it is about half way between the "add a quart" line and "normal when hot" line (see pics).
( I assume the light is just an indicator of how full the oil is in the case) If not what else does it indicate?
I have read some posts on here, but all seem to relate to the bike running and pressures at idle. I have not read anything as it relates to a cool bike and the oil light being on.
I don't know if this is needed but here it goes: it was about 82 degrees, fairly humid. I rode the bike on some decent hills (i live in West Virginia). I took some pictures today. The bike is cool on a kickstand. The last picture ( i am not sure what that component is) this is the only thing i can see oil seeping out slightly).
Thank you for reading and any input!!

Its not an low oil level indicator light, it's a low oil pressure indicator light, that's why it came on when you turned the ign on but the eng wasn't running, no oil pressure voila , oil light comes on.

Thanks everyone for your responses. But I think I have found the answer it was something my brother-in-law called an I D 10 T error and it could be fixed with exhaust bearings....
jk
I don't know why I have not noticed it before. I have had the bike less than a month. Thanks for being easy on me
