cold or hot
I been told to change the oil after the moter has reached operating temp.. Then I bought a cd on harley maintainence and they tell you to do it cold? Any thoughts

warm the bike up to get everything suspended so it will drain.

You need to run the bike to make sure you have everything pumped from the sump back into the tank. And as mentioned, warm oil flows better than cold.

You want the oil warm.......not super hot but hot enough to flow easily.

Engine oil,tranny lube,etc.- will drain better when the engine is warm.
